How To Tell Generation Of Intel Processor

If you have a laptop or even a desktop system, then it is possible to find out what generation of Intel processors is installed. For that, you need to first find the processor of your laptop or desktop. To do this, simply right-click My Computer and select Properties from the menu that pops up. You will be shown an overview with information such as which processor (and its name) we're running at present.

What processor do I have?

The names indicate the series it belongs to, but only identifiable information is likely going to be the name of the processor. However, this does not reveal which generation an individual chip belongs to, and that's important for when you're trying to upgrade your PC or just looking out to make sure what I got has the right hardware in there!

Intel makes it very simple and easy to figure this out.

Intel CPU Generations

You need to find out which processor, or central processing unit (CPU), you have installed on your system. Right-click on My Computer and then choose Properties from the context menu if using Windows 8 or 10. This will open up a window with information about what type of hardware is present in order for us to provide accurate help!

In the Control Panel window, you'll find a processor section. From there, it's easy to tell that this is an Intel Core i5 because of their model number and knowing what generation they are from looking at other parts within your computer system as well.

What is my processor (alternate way)

Here is an alternate method to find the model number. Simply open the Task Manager, then go to the performance tab. Now you have to select CPU on the left, and then on the top right, you will need your CPU model.

How To Find The Generation Of Intel Processor

If you have a new processor, all that needs to be considered is its model number. The first digit will tell what generation it belongs in (e.g., 6700HQ). This also applies to four-digit numbers and those with five digits total; just look at the second two figures when determining which one's current ones are appropriate for your computer setup!

What To Look For In A CPU Cooler KW: what to look for in a CPU cooler If you're looking for a new, quieter CPU cooler but are not exactly sure which one is suitable for your system or you don't know what to look for in a CPU cooler, then this article is for you. In this article, we are going to discuss a few things that you need to look at before buying a CPU cooler. How Much Heat Does My CPU Generate? It's important to know how much heat your computer generates. If you don't, then there's no way of knowing if a small or medium-sized cooler is needed. It might be written on the box somewhere (if it wasn't removable), or by looking up the model number online like Q6600, which produces 95W at peak usage - but most recent Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs only generate 65 watts in general use conditions. What Size CPU Cooler Do I Need? The best coolers for low-power CPUs are small and medium-sized models that can still provide adequate cooling. If you have a high wattage machine, it's better to go with the most powerful cooler available because your system will thank you later when starting up takes less time or performs more smoothly, even if there is no difference in performance between lower-end units! Ensure That The Cooler Will Fit Sometimes you might not know if a particular CPU cooler will fit your motherboard or what kind of socket it requires. Instead, don't worry about sending back the wrong one and wasting time. You should buy whichever fits first because this way, there won't be any need for the hassle! Make Sure It Fits In Your Case It's always a good idea to take your measurements when ordering a nice cooler. It can be tricky finding one that fits into the case, and some may seem like they would fit, but then once you get them home and measure inside of it compared with their website list? They're too tall! Do you know how to deal with slow computer issues? If you want to know about it then click here: How to deal with computer slow performance issues?
